Getting Started Guide –How Do I Place My Order?

Hi, and welcome to CardPrinting.com. Placing an order for card printing can sometimes be intimidating, especially when you don’t know the jargon and procedures for it. We hope that you find placing an order here at CardPrinting.com an easy thing to do. We welcome your feedback and look forward to serving you.

Here is a list of questions that you should be able to answer when placing a gift card or plastic printing order.
  • Which product would you like to order
  • How many do you need?
  • Is there color to be printed on the back of the card?
  • Do you have more than one artwork to print? If yes, how many?
  • Will you have a magnetic stripe on your card? If yes, on which track do we encode?

If you don’t know the answers to some of the questions, don’t worry, we’re here to help where we can. There is a handy online chat available from 8 AM to 6 PM eastern, and the “Contact Us” form is there anytime. We respond to that as quickly as possible, generally within 24 hours on a business day.

Which product would you like to order?

We hope that you landed on our home page when you arrived at CardPrinting.com. If not, then it’s easy to get there, just click on the CardPrinting.com logo located at the top left on the page header, or click this link: www.cardprinting.com. That will get you to our home page, where you can see the product categories located below the banner.

Choose which category of products you are interested in, and then choose which product you’d like to order when you are on the category page that lists the available products.

You should now be on your product’s information page, where you can get an abundance of information about your product, along with pricing if you’re “just looking” and order if you’re ready to go.

Power User Tip:
There is a wealth of information in the tabbed box below the product information: Product specifications,
templates, frequently asked questions (FAQ), ideas, tips and more.

How many cards do you need?

You’d think that this is really easy, right? Well … it is, mostly. The thing that many people don’t know is to always OVER order when you are ordering custom printing. Most people think they are saving money by ordering “the minimum” (in our case, 500 pieces). That is often not the most economical decision. For example, choosing the next quantity level up now (in this case, 1000 cards) is less than one-tenth the cost of ordering another 500 cards months into the future.

Power User Tip:
Check the different quantity prices. You may find an advantageous price break.

Is there color to be printed on the back of the card?

If only black ink printing will suffice for the back of the card, choose “Black Ink” for the back of the card.

Power User Tip:
If you don’t need color printed on the back of the card, you can save yourself a little money by choosing “black ink only” for the back of the card.

Do you have more than one artwork to print? If yes, how many?

We call these “art versions” or “plate changes.” You may print more than one art design within your order. There is an additional charge, starting at $150 per additional art version. If you have only one art version to print, there is no additional charge.

Power User Tip:
You can combine 2 or more different art designs in the same product order.

Will you have a magnetic stripe on your card?

If the answer is no, then you’re home free! You have all the information we need for you to place your order. If the answer is yes, we’ll need to know a little more information, and we suggest you read our “Complete Beginner’s Guide to Magnetic Stripes” for a more in-depth explanation.

Answering these questions will get you well on your way to placing your order online. Don’t forget, we have our online chat, and our “Contact Us” form for assistance.

What happens next?

Now that we’ve reviewed the information you’re going to need to place an order, here’s what will happen next.

You click on “Submit Order.”

The next screen asks about artwork for your order.

  • You may upload your artwork at this point.
  • If you don’t have finished artwork, you may choose to upload it later.
  • If you have no idea what artwork is and how to create it, you may hire a designer from our art department to create it for you, at very reasonable prices!

Once you settle the artwork question, the site shows a summary of your order. If the details are correct, you can move on to making your payment.

After having received your paid order, and your artwork, you will be notified of an online art proof available for you to review and approve within a business day. (Weekdays, excluding holidays).

Your online proof will need to be reviewed and approved (or declined, stating necessary changes). We send you a new art proof. After we receive your approval, we can put your order into production.

Should you have any questions regarding your order or its production, feel free to contact us. We’re happy to help!
