Not all die lines are available in all materials, but if you don't see what you'd like, please ask. We do not list all our die lines here.

Things to consider when choosing card material:

Card Design Features: Most of our "flashy" features are available only on the PVC base material.

Aesthetics: PVC cards look and feel like a typical credit card. A Composite Laminated card is the same size, thickness and has the same functionality as a PVC card. It looks slightly more shiny from the thicker laminate.

Standard credit card thickness is 30 mil. If you are looking for a different thickness, please contact a CardPrinting.com representative for a custom quote.

Quantities listed are our price breaks. You will have your best savings when ordering the listed quantities. Please contact a CardPrinting.com representative for a custom quantity quote.

Composite Laminated cards are printed in Four Color Process (CMYK).

PVC cards can be printed with Four Color Process or PMS (Pantone Matching System).

We suggest full production proofs if color matching is absolutely critical. Even though they require additional time and expense, it's well worth it to determine all is correct with your job.

art version

If your order contains different versions of artwork, make your selection based on how many additional versions you require. One version is included with your artwork. There is a minimum of 250 cards per art version.

finish

Standard finish is gloss laminate. A matte laminate (not glossy) is also available.

Barcode

The most popular types of barcodes are Type 128, Type 39 or UPC-A. We have an online guide, and also a handy Bar Code Test Sheet for you to print out and try with your bar code scanner and software.

Numbering & Variable Data

Please enter the starting number if your numbering is consecutive numbering (001, 002, 003, etc.).

For other types of variable data, you may upload a .xls, .csv or .txt file with your artwork.

Note: We will need to add small "control" numbers in the corner of your card. This is a production requirement to ensure 100% product delivery.

Signature Panel / Writable Back

A Signature Panel is an area or areas on the card that are writable with a ballpoint pen. If you need to write on a large area, go with the matte writable back instead.

Active Label

An "active label" is a reusable label with the card number printed on it. The active label is peeled off the card and placed on to a customer's application or paperwork. This makes the combo ready for use and both the card and the paperwork now have matching numbers, greatly reducing human error in clerical duties.

Magnetic stripe

This section is asking what type of coercivity Magnetic Stripe you require. Coercivity indicates how dense the magnetic particles are on the stripe. Usually if the type of card you are printing is an occasional type of card such as a gift card you might want to order a Lo-Co mag stripe unless your POS provider indicates otherwise. If you are printing a rewards or loyalty card you might want to consider a Hi-Co. Whichever you choose you must be sure your equipment will be able to read the cards.

Scratch-Off

Concealing readable information (such as some sort of code) until the material is scratched off, our most popular scratch-off label size is 1.5" x .375". If you require Hot Stamp scratch-off, no problem! Please contact our Card Specialists for assistance with your quote.

Metallic Ink

We offer a number of proprietary metallic ink colors. These are not the same as the Pantone metallic. They have larger metallic grain in the ink, resulting in a higher sparkle effect. If you would like to have some samples sent to you please let us know by requesting samples online from our CardPrinting specialist and we'll have them right out to you!

NOTE: Metallic inks can only be printed on PVC, not composite.

Foil Stamping

NOTE: Foil stamping can only be ordered for PVC cards.

We have a lot of beautiful foils to use on our PVC plastic cards. Please consult the resources area or request samples from our CardPrinting.com specialist and we'll have samples sent right out to you!

Submitting artwork in a VECTOR format is best for foil stamping.

Spot UV

Spot UV gives a PVC card a slightly raised clearcoat finish to defined areas of a card. Please consult the resources area or request samples from our CardPrinting.com specialist and we'll have samples sent right out to you!

NOTE: Spot UV is available only for PVC cards.

Thermal-Enabled Laminate

If you are going to personalize your card in-house, then you need to select this, so your card will be produced with a special laminate that accepts thermal printing.
